Greetings from Educational Initiatives!

We are an educational research organization started by a group of IIT-IIM alumni working with over 1500 leading schools in India, Gulf and Singapore. Our vision is a world where children everywhere are learning with understanding. The organisation’s mission is ‘to develop and offer products and services based on research in assessment that will (i)accurately and meaningfully measure how well students are really learning; (ii) provide insights into the learning process and (iii) actually help improve the quality of learning.

We would like to, invite your school to participate in ASSET a skill-based, diagnostic, benchmarking test. ‘Skill-based’ refers to the fact that ASSET does not test recall or merely what the student remembers of the content that has been taught. Rather, it tests how much the child has understood key underlying concepts. ‘Diagnostic’ refers to the fact that the aim of the test is to provide specific and detailed feedback at both the skill (competency) and question level. And ‘benchmarking’ refers to the fact that it provides a snapshot of how students and schools are performing compared to hundreds and thousands of their peers.

The three special features of ASSET which partner schools have appreciated are

  • the nature and quality of its questions
  • the quality of its analysis at the student, teacher and school level
  • The type of follow-on support available for both teachers and students after the test.

The ASSET team firmly believes that its main work starts AFTER the test is over and the analysis is available at the school end. To ensure that the schools derive maximum benefit of the post-test services all partner schools are recommended to take ASSET for all students for a group of classes or for the whole school for atleast one subject. To encourage this the ASSET team offers schools and teachers a variety of services aimed at student improvement and teacher empowerment. These services are

  • Teacher Sheets - An all year round teacher improvement package
  • Teacher Helpline - A direct access to Subject Experts for support via email
  • Tips on making good questions - A monthly support aimed at improving teacher effectiveness.

ASSET is available for five papers: English, Maths, Science, Social Studies and Hindi. The cost is Rs.135/- per paper.
