We invite your school to participate in ASSET a skill-based, diagnostic, benchmarking test. ‘Skill-based’ refers to the fact that ASSET does not test recall or merely what the student remembers of the content that has been taught. Rather, it tests how much the child has understood key underlying concepts. ‘Diagnostic’ refers to the fact that the aim of the test is to provide specific and detailed feedback at both the skill (competency) and question level. And ‘benchmarking’ refers to the fact that it provides a snapshot of how students and schools are performing compared to hundreds and thousands of their peers.

ASSET has grown from strength to strength, reaching over 300,000 students from all over India in 2008, and helping them get a snapshot view of their strengths and weaknesses. Along the way, we’ve added a host of features to India’s only diagnostic test.

Many schools have started using ASSET’s diagnostic and benchmarking insights in very interesting ways, and this year,we showcase 3 such examples in our brochure. What is most impressive is the sheer amount of improvement a school is able to show within a short period of one or two years. Some examples of how schools have used ASSET analysis include-

  • Using the Bird’s Eye View to compare the school with the classwise and subjectwise national average, and taking specific actions like increasing Math periods or providing holiday homework for specific subjects.
  • Using Year On Year analysis to track the school’s improvement and figure out whether certain new initiatives of the school are working or not working, and which ones work the best.
  • Using Teacher Sheets and Misconception Analysis and fitting new activities in the lesson plans to help overcome weaknessareas.
  • Displaying ASSET Question A Day in Classrooms and notice boards, and making ASSET type questions even for weekly, monthly, midterm and endterm tests, thus making “thinking and application” a daily activity rather than a “once-a-year event”

Inspired by how schools are beginning to use the tests and gain from them, we’re going a step further this year-we bring you a special “Test Generator” as part of our Advance Registration Opportunity, that will save a lot of time for your teachers! This simple online software will allow your teachers to create their own customized tests using a mix of regular and ASSET type questions suitable for CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and any State board syllabus. Additionally, each school is guaranteed at least 3 visits from the ASSET Team during the year, to help you extract even more value from the ASSET analysis!

At the same time, to ensure that schools really benefit from taking ASSET, beginning this year, the test will only be offered to schools that participate with ALL children (Full School), or with all students of a given class (Full Class). Keeping in mind the difficult economic environment, we’ve held prices for this year, and ASSET continues to be available under the Advance Registration Opporunity at the same price as last year, viz., Rs.300 for English, Math & Science and Rs.120 per paper for the optional subjects, Hindi and Social Studies.
