It gives me great pleasure in announcing that Mr Sudhir Ghodke, Founder Director of Educational Initiatives, has joined back full-time as Director & Executive Vice President to lead the efforts to expand our reach and help every child learn with understanding. In the past two years, Sudhir has been busy with a number of very interesting and relevant activities, and most of it will be taken to schools by EI in the months to come. I would like to highlight two key initiatives that Sudhir worked on, during his break.
The first one is Skillfest – a Festival of Learning. Sudhir organised “Skillfest – Ahmedabad” where he put together a set of 20 workshops over 5 days and trained over 500+ teachers from 40 schools from Gujarat and Maharashtra. Skillfest offered specific workshops tailored to age, grade and subject specific requirements of teachers. EI is planning to scale up Skillfest and do it in 20 locations all over India and Dubai in the coming months.
Secondly, Sudhir has been researching the new and exciting area of Neuroscience and its application in the field of teaching and learning. He has focused specifically on the changes that happen in the brain at the adolescent age which is technically called the “Second Decade – From Age 10 to 20″. He is currently teaching a 2 credit course at CEPT University and has conducted workshops in schools for teachers on Neuroscience. He will be working with an extended team to bring his insights into our products and services.
Additionally, Sudhir has also invested a fair amount of time and energy researching alternative methods of healing and in the process has got certified as a Yoga Teacher from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center at Kerala. We hope he will bring into EI and schools a deeper and richer understanding of how we can be more effective as leaders while maintaining our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energies at their peak.
