Probably not though we may all acknowledge that education is the critical field in human endeavour.
There are sporadic research efforts in various places that make a difference on a small scale. But EI’s aim is to form a critical mass of people interested in education to conduct basic and advanced but useful research in school education and make a substantial contribution to this field. This should help in improving the quality of education reaching the children and also developing new educational products in tune with the needs of the times.”

Profile of Sales Manager
The Sales Manager will be responsible for coordinating the regional operations of EI. This position involves significant responsibility and high level of target orientation. The current product portfolio of EI includes ASSET - a diagnostic test, Teacher Training, and Curriculum Services.
EI’s main initiative is ASSET- a diagnostic skill-based test that measures “understanding” and provides detailed feedback to children from class 3 to 10 about what their academic strengths and weaknesses are. Over 1.5 lakh students from over 700 schools across India, Middle East, Singapore and Nepal are taking ASSET every year. With a database of 10 million student responses, ASSET is a unique repository of the state of learning in India today.
In terms of teacher training and Curriculum Services there is a tremendous scope for growth which needs to be tapped.
Job Description
- Interacting and building relationships with School Principals, Management and Teachers to create and service the demand for EI offerings.
- Building a team of Educational Advisors who will be the front line of the sales effort.
- Inspiring, leading and coordinating the team to evolve into partners working towards a common goal of school improvement with the school management.

Job Description
- Building a list of schools in your town/ city, periodically visiting them and making presentations regarding ASSET and Teacher Training Programs offered by EI to schools.
- Coordinating between the Schools that sign up with EI to ensure smooth progress of the assessment test, teacher training programs, competitions and other activities. This would involve as an example - collection of lists of participating students, ensuring question papers reach schools, collection of answer sheets and distributing analysis to the schools.
- Following-up on activities conducted in schools and get feedback from students and teachers. This would help EI identify new opportunities that EI can service in the schools.
- Reporting on a regular basis to the Relationship Manager of your region.
- The Regional Manager will assist you and will be available for any training, guidance and support you might need to perform your role effectively.

3. Educational Specialists
Educational Initiatives’ mission is to significantly improve the quality of learning in schools the world over by developing innovative, research-based products.
India has a large number of teachers and principals (the practitioners) and it has educational experts (the theorists) - but it probably lacks a layer of educational technologists (those who understand the theory, try it out in practice and modify it). These educational technologists marry a good understanding of theory with a bias for action. EI attempts to provide that layer for India’s educational system.
EI’s main initiative is ASSET- a diagnostic skill-based test that measures “understanding” and provides detailed feedback to children from class 4-9 about what their academic strengths and weaknesses are. More than 80,000 tests have been administered to students in over 400 schools in the past 2 years. ASSET Direct is currently being test-marketed as a direct retail offering to parents.

- Be a part EI’s team of educational specialists in developing high quality diagnostic tests that can accurately pi-point learning and provide specific feedback for improvement.
- Participate in subject based research projects with the objective of designing more effective assessment methods.

- Very strong academic fundamentals (school level English, Math, Science)- should have got 80+% in school Board exams.

7. Project Manager - Bhutan Project
Bhutan is a country that is uniquely positioned between India and China, both of which have been reporting tremendous growth in their economy and is projected to grow further in the next decade. 8. Project Manager - Google Project
World over, governments and citizens alike seem to agree that good quality education is one of the most powerful factors that can improve the quality of life. While education in the past meant largely the 3R’s, the needs of the knowledge society call for critical thinking, learning how to learn and problem solving skills to be imparted to students. Improving an education system almost certainly requires a multi-pronged effort. Parallel to these efforts, however, it is necessary to establish some method to objectively measure the level of student learning! Further, this method of measuring student learning must be valid, periodic, external and largely accepted. While the national efforts in India have helped in increasing the percentage of children attending schools, there is a large effort needed to improve quality of student learning.
Currently, Educational Initiatives with Google Inc., USA has embarked on a first-of-its-kind, ambitious and complex exercise to measure learning levels of government school children across 21 Indian states. The project involves assessment of student achievement in classes 4, 6 and 8 and will cover about 21 states and thus about 15 languages. The study aims to establish student achievement levels and to provide insights into comparative performances of different states, to create cross-learning and remedial opportunities.
